Validation Update

Planning Support are currently validating applications and returned invalid information received on 6 November - Last updated 16 November 2020

Construction site working hours

On 13 May 2020, the government published a written ministerial statement on planning and construction working hours. This statement expects local planning authorities to approve requests to extend construction working hours temporarily to ensure safe working in line with social distancing guidelines until 9pm, Monday to Saturday, unless there are very compelling reasons against this.

If you wish to amend your conditioned construction working hours, you should contact us by emailing planningsupport@torridge.gov.uk

Extension of certain planning permissions

Planning permissions that lapse between 19 August 2020 and 31 December 2020 will automatically be extended to 1 May 2021

Planning permissions due to lapse between 23 March 2020 and 19 August (on or before 18 August) will be required to apply for Additional Environmental Approval to extend a lapsed permission until 1 May 2021.  The request for Additional Environmental Approval should be emailed to planningsupport@torridge.gov.uk

All listed building consents with a time limit for implementation between 23 March and 31 December 2020 will be extended to 1 May 2021

Site Visits and display of Site Notices effective from 5 November 2020

Due to the recent Government announcement relating to COVID-19, and taking into consideration Government Guidance, Torridge District Council's Planning Service will not be carrying out any non-essential site visits. This also means that we will no longer be displaying site notices next to every site, but just the ones that are statutorily required. We will however seek to notify near neighbours of all proposals. All planning applications that have been submitted can be viewed on our website at https://publicaccess.torridge.gov.uk/online-applications/

Officers are currently still available on the phone for advice and guidance and this will not limit our ability to determine planning applications.

Thank you for your understanding.
