Torridge District Council manage and maintain cemeteries at several locations throughout the district

Funerals can take place through your chosen funeral director or we can assist you to make your own arrangements.

The exclusive rights of burial for a full grave or cremation grave for a 25 year period. It is important to note that the right to bury in a grave is purchased and not the land itself, which remains in the ownership of the council.

Exhumations are generally rare and tend to be traumatic for the family involved. They can take a long time to arrange and are usually expensive. For these reasons, it is always best to consult with all the relatives before proceeding.
