Lawful Basis for Processing of Personal Data

Substantial public interest: processing is necessary for reasons of substantial public interest, on the basis of UK law and is proportionate to the aim pursued. The fundamental rights of the data subject are both respected and safeguarded.

To ensure that the council provides you with an efficient and effective service we will sometimes need to share your information between teams within the council.

We may also share information with third parties that support the delivery of the services you receive or where we are legally obliged to do so. Information we hold may be shared with the following types of organisation:

Police forces
Police complaints authority

We will only ever share your information if we are satisfied that our partners or suppliers have sufficient measures in place to protect your information in the same way that we do.

We will never share your information for marketing purposes.

Obligation to Provide Personal Data

Any failure to provide your personal information, for instance when making a request for footage, may prevent or delay us meeting our statutory requirements or in providing you with a timely and effective service.
