What happens after I ask Torridge for help?
A council officer will contact you to carry out an initial assessment.
You will be asked to provide documentation to help with our assessment, such as identification and a copy of your tenancy agreement and any notices that you have been served.
We may need to contact other agencies to help us decide how we can help you. We will only share relevant information about you and we will ask you to agree which agencies we can share your data with. If you restrict who we can contact, it may limit our ability to assist you. For more information about how your personal information will be stored and processed go to Your data: Housing Options | Torridge District Council.
If you do not provide us with information we need, it may delay us being able to help you.
If we decide that we should help you because you are homeless or threatened with homelessness, an officer will be allocated to work with you. they will carry our a more detailed assessment of your housing and support needs and those of anyone in who is part of your household. They will tell you in writing what duty we owe you and produce a plan for helping you.
