Equality Information and Data
Public authorities covered by the specific duties under the Equality Act must publish their information and data to demonstrate their compliance with the general equality duty.
This includes, in particular, information to be published relating to people who share relevant protected characteristics that are:
- affected by its policies and practices, and
- information relating to its employees (for authorities with 150 staff or more)

By gathering and using equality information it will help to:
- understand the effect on equality of our current and proposed policies, practices and decision
- identify what the key priority equality issues are for the council
- set the most appropriate equality objectives and measure progress against them
- demonstrate compliance with the duty, and
- demonstrate to the public how the council is performing and our achievements
