Pavement Licences
On 31 March 2024, the pavement licensing provisions laid out in the Levelling Up and Regeneration Act 2023, were commenced. The provisions introduce a permanent pavement licensing regime in England to replace the temporary provisions introduced by the Business and Planning Act 2020. The policy and procedure for applying for a permanent licence is still being developed, if your licence is due to expire please contact the licensing team for further details on how to renew.
Pavement Licence Policy Consultation
Torridge District Council has produced a new Pavement Licensing Policy. This will be the first Pavement Licensing Policy adopted by the Council. As a result, we want to hear any comments or feedback you may have. Once adopted, the policy will, as standard, be reviewed every three years.
The policy sets out how we exercise our functions in relation to pavement licensing matters, under the Business and Planning Act 2020 and Levelling Up and Regeneration Act 2023.
The Policy has been produced in conjunction with the other Local Authorities in Devon, with an aim to ensure a consistent approach across Devon.
