Fun for all the family at Northam Burrows this October Half Term Holidays!

The autumn nights might be starting to draw in, but there there's still plenty of entertainment and fun activities for families to get involved in at the Northam Burrows, this October half term. 

• From Saturday 26th October to Sunday 3rd November there will be a self-guided Halloween themed trail around the dunes. Free maps can be collected between 10am and 5pm from the Visitor Centre.
• On Tuesday 29th October, from 2pm-4pm, the Torridge Rangers will be hosting a wildlife friendly gardening session with Bideford Rotary Club at the Visitor Centre. The Rangers have been busy in the workshop creating bird box kits for families to build and take away with them- so they can provide a home for wildlife in their own gardens.  As well as flower seeds to grow over the winter months, there is also the option to book a place on a workshop and make a bug house to take home. 
• On Thursday 31st October, from 2-4pm, you're invited along to 'Skullduggery!' at the Visitor Centre. Are you brave enough to pick up a whale bone? In a game of 'whose bones?' can you match the creature's names to their skulls? There will also be the chance to take part in some chalk and bone crafts and make a skeletal hand to wear.  After all that, settle in for story time and read 'Funnybones' with the rangers.

All events are free to attend.  However, the Bug House workshop requires advance booking, which people should complete as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
