  • Universal Credit - Single monthly payment which replaces: housing benefit, income support, income based Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA), income related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA), child tax credit, working tax credit

  • Housing Benefit - Means-tested benefit for those on a low income and not in receipt of Universal Credit, to assist in the payment of rent. Only available to new claims from pension age customers ; or people who are in specified/exempt accommodation (determined by Torridge District Council) and/or people who have been placed by our housing team into temporary accommodation under the homelessness provisions.  

  • Pension Credit People of State Pension age may be entitled to Pension Credit even though they may have modest savings, a retirement income or own their own home. An award of Pension Credit can provide access to a range of other benefits such as help with housing costs, council tax, heating bills and for those aged 75 or over or a free TV licence. 

  • Child Benefit HMRC has launched a new service allowing parents to claim child benefit online. 

  • Devon libraries - Free drop-in IT sessions to help people boost their digital skills and confidence. Work clubs in libraries can help with CV writing, and developing skills to help apply for job. Webinars with advice for budding entrepreneurs and local start-up businesses

  • One Northern Devon Help and Support Link Advice, information and services on a National, Regional and Local level
