New Residents Permit Details 2024/25

Residents permits are a convenient choice for people who work from home or work unsociable hours.

PLEASE NOTE :   These permits are STRICTLY for  FULL TIME residential use only.  AIR B&B / HOLIDAY LETS OR RENTALS / SECOND HOMES are NOT permitted. Any permit found to have been issued to a non-resident will be revoked IMMEDIATELY with NO refund being offered.

They are limited to one per household, and are subject to the following eligibility:

• your permit zone will be within the immediate vicinity of your residential address.
• your vehicle will fit wholly within a parking bay.
• your vehicle is registered at your permanent residence as above, (Company Vehicle accepted)

 These permits can only be purchased on either an Annual or Winter season basis for car parks where residents parking is allowed, listed below:

• Zone 1 - Bideford: Cattle Market, Springfield,Riverbank Long Stay, Clarence Wharf & Pannier Market 
•                                 (Bridge Street Car Park 4pm - 10am & all day Sunday) 
• Zone 2 - Northam: Bonehill & Windmill Lane 
• Zone 3 - Appledore: Odun Road, Churchfields & West Appledore (Winter Season 1st Nov - 14th March ONLY)
• Zone 4 - Westward Ho!:Wilkeys Fields, Slipway & Main                 (Winter Season 1st Nov - 14th March ONLY)
• Zone 5 - Torrington: Barley Grove and Sydney House (South Street)
• Zone 6 - Holsworthy: Manor & Well Park

You will need:

• An account on our online permit system
• A copy of your latest Council Tax & Utility Bill
• Your vehicle's registration number (number plate)
• A debit or credit card

If you are applying for a Winter Season permit you will need to contact the office on 01237 428897 to apply and make payment at the reduced rate.

Terms and Conditions

1. The use of this permit does not preclude you from receiving a Penalty Charge Notice should you fail to comply with these terms and conditions or commit any other offence contrary to the District of Torridge Off Street Parking Places Order 2024. Please see the information board in the car park for further details.
2. The Council accepts no liability for the loss or damage to vehicles or the contents thereof.
3. In using this permit in your designated vehicle you are agreeing to the Council's terms & conditions contained herein and within the above mentioned Order.
