Tier 2 Local Restrictions Support Grant (Open) 3 Dec to 30 Dec 2020

The Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) (Open) is available to businesses in the hospitality or leisure sectors (with a rateable value), that have stayed open for the period 3 December to 30 December 2020 but whose income has been severely impacted due to Tier 2 restrictions. 

Eligibility

Your business may be eligible if it:

  • Has a rateable business premises
  • is based in England
  • is in an area subject to Tier 2 local restrictions and has been severely impacted because of the local restrictions
  • was established before the introduction of Tier 2 in the Torridge District (December 3 2020)
  • has not had to close but has been impacted by local restrictions
  • is within one of the following sectors:
    • hospitality
    • hotels
    • bed & breakfast
    • leisure businesses
    • retail

For eligible businesses, the amount of Local Restrictions Support Grant (Open) payable is as follows:

Grants of £467 per 14 day period for businesses occupying premises with a rateable value of exactly £15,000 or under on the date of the commencement of the local restrictions.

Grants of £700 per 14 day period for businesses occupying premises with a rateable value over £15,000 and less than £51,000 on the date of the commencement of the local restrictions.

Grants of £1050 per 14 day period for businesses occupying premises with a rateable value of exactly £51,000 or above on the date of the commencement of the local restrictions.

Grant income received by a business is taxable. The Local Restrictions Support Grant (open) will need to be included as income in the tax return of the business. Only businesses which make an overall profit once grant income is included will be subject to tax.

Making an application

This application is provided to capture the information required by Torridge District Council to verify and make the payment of these grants.

Please make sure you follow the instructions very carefully and add the information exactly as it is laid out on your business rates bill.

Please ensure you have the following information with you before you start your application:

  • Your business rate account number and the name of your business as it appears on your rates bill

  • Your Company Number (as registered with Companies House) if a limited company

  • Your VAT number if VAT registered

How to apply

Payment should be made to your nominated bank account within 14 days from the date of your application. Payment runs are made on Wednesday of each week, and the funds should be in your account on the Friday of that week. Please do not contact us until at least the 14 day period has expired, and please check your bank account before you contact us. If we need to verify your bank details this will delay payment further.

Please do not make repeated applications for the same grant.
