Annual Canvass

Envelope icon

Your Vote Matters - Don't Lose It!

Every year Councils carry out an Annual Canvass nationally to check they hold the correct information on the Register of Electors.  From July 2022 Torridge District Council will be completing this for properties in the district.

We will contact addresses in different phases and below are 3 of the forms which will be sent first.  Reminders will be sent where we don't receive a response and if we don't hear back again Canvassers will be asked to door knock in some areas.  The Canvass ends when the Register is published on 1st December 2021.

Have you received this form?

CCA

If you receive a form asking if our Register information is correct for your address there are two options:

If there are no changes you do not need to respond, you just need to recycle the paperwork.

If there are changes you can respond in three ways:

1. Online - via the webpage www.householdresponse.com/torridge

2. By post - Sending the form back in a stamped addressed envelope to The Electoral Registration Officer, Torridge District Council, Riverbank House, Bideford, EX39 2QG.

3. Telephone 01237 428739

In order to be able to vote in elections your name must be included in the Register of Electors.  Residents whose names are added to the household form will need to register individually at a later date.  They can Register to Vote online using this link in as little as 5 minutes.  If they do not register online they will be sent an individual application form, which will need to be returned before they can be added to the electoral register.

Have you received either of the forms above?

Form A

If you receive a form saying that you need to respond, then you need to let us know if the information listed is correct.

Form B

A separate form is sent out if we have no one on the register at your address. We still need to know if a property is empty, or if new owners or tenants are due to move in.

You must respond even if there are no changes.
