Come and talk to us at the Woolsery Show

woolsery show 2017

Officers and Councillors from Torridge District Council (pictured in 2017) will once again be attending the Woolsery & District Agricultural Show to meet with the public, with a focus on Recycling and reducing waste that ends up in Landfill.

On the 4th June the Council implemented major changes to our waste and recycling services - this will be an opportunity for the public to tell us what they think, and also an opportunity for the Council to feedback on the excellent June statistics showing that recycling levels in Torridge have increased. There will be lots of other information available such as how to compost more effectively, and ideas to generally help to improve our environment by producing less waste that ends up in landfill.

This year we will be continuing our successful initiative of having an officer from the Councils Planning Team on hand to answer general queries and give advice relating to developments and the planning application process. We also want to hear people's views on other Council Services and information from our other services will be available for people to take away and read.

Councillor Mervyn Langmead - Lead Member for Waste and Recycling said:

"The Council continues to welcome views from our residents and visitors, and this is an opportunity for people to come along and discuss things with representatives from the Council. People will be able to find out more about the recent changes to their waste and recycling services. But the show isn't just about recycling. We also want to use these events to connect with our customers and answer other queries they might have and this time around we again have a representative from the Planning Service to answer your questions. Apart from that, Woolsery Show provides a fun, fascinating, and educational day out for all the family and the Council looks forward to seeing many people at the event"
