More Foster Carers sought across Devon

Devon County Council is running a new campaign in the hope of finding more foster carers for some of the 684 children in care in Devon. The Council are looking for people with a range of skills, who have a spare room and space in their lives to help offer a child or siblings a safe and stable home.

It doesn't take qualifications to be a foster carer, although there's plenty of training and support on offer, plus competitive rates of pay. Essentially it boils down to finding people with skills they may use every day in their own life, people who are dedicated to helping others. It's a big commitment sure, but it's a rewarding one.

Any one interested in becoming a foster carer can listen to one of the new radio adverts voiced by current foster carers; or follow Devon county carers on Facebook and Twitter. If you know someone who would make a great foster carer, why not tag them in or encourage them to give the service a call on 0345 155 1077 to find out more. Visit the Fostering Devon website - www.fosteringindevon.org.uk to download an introductory booklet.

Thank you for helping us spread the word!
