New Advanced Recycling Vehicles to be trialled in selected areas

Romaquip Recycling Vehicle

From 2nd to the 6th October the Councils Waste & Recycling Service will be conducting a further trial of a new Kerbside Recycling Vehicle. Following earlier trials in May this is an opportunity for the Council to try out new collection methods before rolling them out more widely across the district.

The newer vehicles will allow the sorting of recycling materials as they are loaded onto the vehicle. The trial period will allow the Council to assess the vehicles performance and capabilities in both urban and rural parts of the District. Any areas selected to be part of next weeks trial will still have their collection on the same day as usual but this may be at a different time to that normally experienced. However the Council is asking residents to still put out their recycling by 7am on the day of collection as normal.

TDC Waste and Recycling Manager - Richard Haste said:

"The trial is part of the Councils dry recycling vehicle fleet review which is aimed at delivering an improved, more efficient and sustainable service to our residents. The day of collection will not change during the trial and so we need residents to make sure they put out their recycling by 7am to ensure everything is collected as planned."
