Come along to the "Art on the Quay" events every Sunday in Bideford

Art on the Quay

Torridge Councillor Johnny Langton-Lockton is calling on all artists to put the finishing touches to their artwork and bring their works along to the "Art on the Quay" events taking place in Bideford every Sunday until late October. The venue at Landivisiau Walk has been set aside to be the regular home for these exhibitions running alongside the River Torridge.

It's hoped the events will attract not only professionals but amateurs and school children alike which has been emphasised through a "no selection" policy for the art to be displayed. With ample parking and only a short walk form the Town Centre the idea is for the exhibitions to become a regular must see for many people, while at the same time complementing other events held in the Town.

Councillor Langton-Lockton said:

"We would like as may people as possible to come along and display their artwork at weekends be they first time artists, amateurs or professionals. The quay and river Torridge is a fantastic backdrop to these open air events which we hope will be a great meeting place for art lovers or residents and visitors just looking for something different and exciting to do at the weekend. There is plenty of room for everyone that wants to exhibit their work and it really is an event for all ages and skill levels and a chance to share and talk about your work with a larger audience"

Potential exhibitors are invited to display original work every Sunday through to the final event on 29th October. We only ask that people take care not to damage any walls, gardens or other street furniture in putting up their work. The Council would also ask people to leave the area clean and tidy and help promote a degree of self regulation to ensure the success and continuation of the event into the future.
