Arklow Resolve sails

mv Arklow Resolve has sailed this morning (Sunday) at 0725 from Yelland jetty.

She was not fully discharged in time for the tide last night so postponed till today. She is sailing to Avonmouth where she will load wheat for Belfast. She will commence loading next Tuesday.

The ship has a variable pitched propellor and tends to be underpowered when manoevring. (half ahead = 3 to 5 knots). The long Pilot ladder is poorly placed at the after end of the upper platform.

The pleasant Captain and crew were efficient and competent.

The Captain reports that the (Dutch) company is purchasing new ships to add to th fleet.
