William Butler Yates undocks

William Butler Yates leaving shipyard for fitting out berth Norman Hardaker

William Butler Yates has successfully floated out from the Babcock Appledore shipyard this morning at first light. She is a 90 metre fast patrol vessel for the Irish Navy and is the third in the series.

She floated as expected with no list and a good trim as per the naval architects expectations

TDC Pilots aboard conducted the ship with two tugs - the Will Endeavour and the newly re engined Lundy Puffin in calm conditions after yesterdays gales.

The now well practiced event went very smoothly, and the ship once again is a credit to the shipbuilders being in well advanced state of completion. Wind was a convenient North North East direction and light.

She will complete fitting out until June builder's trials.

The ship's crew consisted of shipyard employees.
