Edzard CirkSena berths at Bideford Quay.

mv EDZARD CIRKSENA berthed at BIDEFORD QUAY at 0435 hrs.

Sea conditions were rough with a fresh North Westerly wind. Pilot boat Coxswain John Pavitt and Thom Flaxman put the pilot Roger Hoad aboard without incident in the lively conditions.

The boarding was lit by a bright moon between the rain showers in the vicinity of the Middle Ridge buoy with seas of about 3 metres, and a moderate swell.

The ship handled well and visibility was good. The Russian Captain has been onboard for just twelve days, after a long leave in southern Russia. This is his first visit to Bideford, and he says the first port he has been in with the town so close.

There are 7 crew altogether with 5 Ukrainaian and 2 Russian.

After loading she will sail at about 1630 hrs today, so that she may catch the tide for sailing from Teignmouth on Friday with the remainder of her cargo..
