mv CEMI has arrived at YELLAND QUAY.

She was carrying over 4,151 tonnes of fine stone (used as rough sand) for NOTTS CONTRACTORS of Yelland. (That is 138 max size 30 tonne lorry loads).

The weather had deteriorated overnight with strong westerly winds and a rough sea with a moderate swell, reports the Pilot Paul Gyurgyak. He reported that the ship handled very well with her Becker rudder, variable pitch propellor and bow thruster.

The ship has now finished discharge and will sail on the morning tide (0812 hrs) for her short passage across to NEWPORT for her next load.

Pilot boat crew John Pavitt and Thom Flaxman reported demanding conditions for the Pilot boat, and also on Yelland jetty as they ran the mooring lines in the very windy conditions.

le JAMES JOYCE the Irish Naval ship has been further delayed by her ongoing propellor problems and will not now sail until the 17th May.
