Strategic Plan

Torridge District Council is dedicated to delivering quality services to its customers but understands that this cannot always be done in isolation.

Following a vote at the Full Council meeting on Monday 1st August 2016 Members formally adopted the Councils new Strategic Plan 2016-2020. The plan was developed in late 2015, early 2016 with meetings and input from Councillors and Senior Officers but members of the public were also invited to participate through a consultation process. The plan sets out what the Council will strive to achieve, together with its partners, local businesses, communities and residents, over the next four years. The preparation process was designed to allow everyone to have their say on what these priorities should be, and will guide and focus business plans and performance monitoring over the coming years.

One of the key Goals under the plan is dedicated to delivering effective customer focused services but the plan also seeks to broaden the scope of activities to three other Goals. These include working to deliver a prosperous economy, strong safe healthy communities, and protecting the environment. Councillors have also looked to balance the needs of both the rural and urban communities.
