Discount for members of religious communities
Special discount for members of religious communities
Someone aged 18 or over who is a member of a religious community is not counted for Council Tax purposes.
They must have no income or capital of their own and they must be dependent on the religious community for support. We will ignore any pension from a former job.
Their religious community must be mainly involved in prayer, contemplation, the relief of suffering, education or any combination of these.
You could get a discount on your Council Tax bill if a member of a religious community lives with you but not if there are still two or more people in the household who are counted for Council Tax purposes.
